The product is great but the packaging needs work. On arrive the box was torn open and the backside of the receiver was sticking out. Because of this issue all of the paint was scraped off. I had to sand and repaint it before installing it. The product went in with no problem.
Overall, good fit on the 2025 CX-50, but it is very snug and does take some wrangling if you are solo.
First attempt I made the other day was with a jack and jack stands. The problem here was I concentrated on only one side and getting it lined up and the bolts in, and was unable to get the other side to even go up because it is a *very* snug fit on the frame.
My second attempt today I took a different approach as a solo install. I get it up in the cavity area, then put myself directly under it from the center and lifted it into place equally on both sides. It's still very snug, but this allowed me to get it installed on both sides. Lining up the holes was tricky, but I managed to work the front holes (toward the front of the car) in first, then i used a small floor jack on each side to push upward, and then use some of my own muscle to essentially pivot it off the existing bolts and line up the back holes (toward the back of the car) so I could thread the bolts in. Took some work, but still managed it in under an hour I think overall.
Video is all you need to install yourself. Still need a light kit.

This is the third Curt hitch we've installed since 2015 and all have performed just as we've hoped. Unlike other reviewers who installed this on the Mazda CX-50, we had to unmount the bumper cover spacers to allow enough room for the hitch to seat properly and then had adjust the position of the spacers slightly and use a longer bolt to re-attach them. A bit more work than the installation video showed and likely due to a manufacturing difference in this 2026 CX-50 Turbo TPP model trim level and the models the other reviewers shared.

I had to touch up a few places of the powder coating because the box was broke open on the ends of the hitch and it got banged up, but other than that, it was good
The Curt installation of the C33MJ trailer hitch receiver onto a 2026 Mazda CX-50 went well. We installed the front bolts first and then rotated the hitch upwards to do the rear bolts using a jack to position the receiver. The etrailer installation video was very helpful to view the process.
The hitch fit my CX-50 Hybrid PP perfectly. Removing the Lifestyle Mount and replacing it with this hitch only took about an hour.
Hitch arrived on time and good condition. Instructions and video were easy to understand and installing took just about an hour with one other persons help to hold hitch in place while bolting on. Easy and good quality!!!
Nice hitch fit my 2024 Mazda CX-50 perfect. My only complaint is how it was packaged. There is no foam or cardboard on hitch to protect it during shipping. Three areas poked through the box and the powder coating was scratched off so I had to touch it up with black paint to prevent rust.
This is my second trailer hitch that I purchased from etrailer and another satisfying purchase. The hitch arrived quickly and on time. The hitch did pop out of the shipping box but there was minimal damage. After watching the installation video, I was able to install this on my own using jack stands. The hitch fit perfectly on my 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid. When I need a trailer hitch there is only one place to turn to, etrailer for the win!

etrailer is lucky to now have you as a loyal neighbor (customer) Joe! I like to touch up my hitch with some Rust-Oleum spray paint, I usually go over the spots once a year, to avoid rusting. Not sure how bad the damage is, but that will help. What do you mainly use the hitch for?
When coupled with the eTrailer installation video, this was the easiest hitch install I have even done. This hitch fits the hybrid version like a glove. I am so happy I ordered this particular hitch AND that I bought it from eTrailer! Thanks for all the support!

The hitch fit perfectly. Box was a little beat up. Paint on the hitch a little chipped. The installation was on a CX50 hybrid. Just needed to remove the hitch cover in bumper and cut hard plastic bumper support. Installation took about 45-50 minutes.
On my install I used a dremel tool to cut out an opening for the original hitch cover and reinstalled it
to take up some space around the hitch.
The hitch fit our 2025 Mazda CX-50 perfectly. Installation was smooth and we were able to take the mountain bikes out the same day. Saved us nearly $500 compared to getting it done at the dealership.
This product didn't fit my 2025 Mazda CX-50 as well as i expected. The cross bar between the two frame mounting brackets pushed the bumper cover mounts back 1/4 inch. It was difficult to install as a result. The final appearance is not greatly affected and the hitch is usable.
Package arrived. The box was damaged on delivery. The accessories to the trailer hitch were missing. I contacted customer service. They sent me the missing pieces. It’s been installed for a year now. I’ve used it primarily for a bike rack. I’ve had no issues with it. Quality product and good customer service.

Cx-50 install. Did by myself by getting into place and using my leg to hold other side. Was able to get bolts in and get it up no problem. I am thin and didn't even need it the car lifted. A little tip too. The section that needs to be cut out at the back use a pvc cutter. Took 2 seconds and a flush cut. I am a pool contractor so I have them laying around. All good here. Was done in 25 minutes. Product arrived sticking out of the box via shipping but if it is made to haul 3500 lbs then I am not worried about that. Not sure if they can even ship these without poking out the box. lol. All in all everything was perfect. The online video was also dead on. If you have a cx-50 this is the one to get!!

Sounds like the install on your CX-50 went really smoothly, and we appreciate you sharing the tips about using a PVC cutter for the trim section and handling the install solo. Finishing it in about 25 minutes is impressive too. The final install looks great, and thanks for sharing the picture! I appreciate your comment on the shipping, yes it does happen from time to time. What do you plan on using the hitch for?
This thing is heavy duty and fit like a glove on my 2025 Mazda CX50 Hybrid, Lifted the back end of the SUV with ramps, got under and took me a bout an hour to install. Hardest part was getting the tape off the holes and cleaning them up so the bolts went in easily. I haven't used the hitch yet but the Thule bike racks and hitch ball fit in nicely. Very solid and well engineered for the vehicle. Powder coating is tough and I am sure will last.
Fit perfectly on our 2026 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid. Have only used the hitch with our bike rack, so can’t vouch for the towing capacity. Went on relatively easily, considering I installed it myself, without any assistance. Hitch arrived timely and in good condition. I only took away one star because the welds were a little rough, other than that it’s perfect.

Christopher, that’s a great looking install on your CX-50 Hybrid. It’s always nice when everything lines up and fits the way it should, especially doing it solo. Sounds like it handled your bike rack setup perfectly so far, and getting it installed without needing an extra set of hands is a win. I hear you on the welds too, but glad overall it checked the boxes for you. What kind of bikes are you hauling with it?
